Founders / Owners

Murray and Daphne Brown have both had a long association in the wine industry in Marlborough. With experience in grape growing progressing to produce their own label they have never been afraid of hard work! They find being totally involved in the vineyard, with the winemaking and in the marketing of their wines as essential in understanding the business. Travelling to the markets where the wine is sold and meeting with customers is as important as is being in the vineyard and winery.

Vineyards

Simon Bamford is the current vineyard manager who brings a great wealth of knowledge to the vineyard team.


The Office

Also part of the team is Lucy Weenink, she moved to Marlborough in 1996 after finishing university. Lucy began working with Murray and Daphne and soon found the wine industry to be her passion. She has gained both national and international knowledge of the wine industry and continues to enjoy being able to travel and learn while working, including doing vintage at the winery. Lucy is General Manager of Cape Campbell wines.  New to the team and assisting Lucy with marketing, sales and dispatching is Kate Cameron.

Since 1994 Dion has been involved in the business, both in the vineyard and with financial aspects, assisting his parents (Murray and Daphne) as the business grows. 

Also in the office is Richard Herd. Richard has an incredible background in marketing and accounting and brings many skills to Cape Campbell.

Winemaking Team

Kiwi Oeno & South Pacific Cellars

Cape Campbell is proud to have the Kiwi Oeno winemaking team working with them. KO is owned and run by winemakers Matt Thomson, Fiona Turner, Alana McGettigan and Glenn Thomas. The experience of these winemakers is unprecedented and an enormous asset to Cape Campbell.

Cape Campbell wine is proud to have a one third shareholding in the modern South Pacific Winery. This is a very new winery with state of the art technologies, equipment and systems. The winery is run by Graeme Paul and Susanne Stander. Both of these two winemakers also add an enormous amount of experience and expertise to the day to day winemaking of Cape Campbell Wines. The latest technology to improve the quality of the wines is a purpose built fixed line and ‘pigging’ system. This takes Cape Campbell’s wines directly from the tank at the winery to the bottle with very little impact – a massive quality system which reduces stress o n the wine
